Sean Lamb
Hons. B.A., B. Ed.
Senior Co-ordinator, Toronto Teacher
Sean has completed a Bachelor of Commerce, Sports Administration degree.
Sean currently teaches Kindergarten at The Rosedale Day School (Private)
and has had extensive experience at Havergal Day Camp and Muskoka Woods
Sports Resort. Sean will assume a Senior Co-ordinator
role for the 4th time this summer.
Amy Longden – Hons B.Sc., B. Ed
Amy is Leaside’s S.M.A.R.T. Camp
Site Co-ordinator. She is currently supply teaching in Halton and returning for
her 6th summer with S.M.A.R.T. Camp. Amy has worked with all camper
age levels, demonstrating sound leadership with C.I.T.s and L.I.T.s.
Scott Blakely – Hons B.A.; M. Ed
Scott is currently completing an
M. Ed degree at D’Youville College in Buffalo, N.Y.
He has extensive experience
working with children in baseball programs at Crestwood Valley Day Camp.
Leanna Barnes – Hons. B.A.; B.
Ed
Leanna currently works at a
private school and will join SMART Camp for a second summer. She has
extensive experience with children in drama, Special Ed, ESL,
Kindergarten – grade 3, children’s yoga and Montessori education. Leanna
has been a counselor and Co ordinator at St. Margaret’s Camp in Barrie
and at Sunnyside Day Care Camp in Toronto.
Lee Nevitte – currently
completing a B. Ed degree
Lee will return for his 8th year at SMART Camp. He will co-ordinate one of our sites this summer in
order to facilitate his application to an Ontario Faculty of Education.
Lee is one of Mr. Strange’s former students and has had extensive camp
and rugby experience.
Claudia Orlando – Hons. B.A.; B.
Ed.
Claudia has volunteered in Toronto
schools for the past two years. She will return for her 3rd
summer with SMART and will be applying to various District School Boards
for September.
Shirley Leung – Hons. BA; B Ed
Shirley has been teaching in Toronto. She has completed placements in
visual arts, math, ESL and Special Ed at many levels while completing a
B Ed degree at Trent University.
Chris Dagonas – Hons BA; B Ed
Chris completed teacher
candidate placements in Toronto Elementary Schools in order to attain a B
Ed from Lakehead University. He has coached soccer and volunteered at
Summer Daze Day Camp. Chris has participated in math and language
workshops provided through the TDSB.
David Walley – Hons BA; B Ed
David recently participated in
grade 1, 2 and 6 placements while completing a B Ed degree at York
University. He has also tutored from grade 2 to 6 and taught cooking as
well as gymnastics. David has had extensive experience as a camp
counselor with Etobicoke Olympium Day Camp.
Sarah Vetrano – Hons. BA; B Ed
Sarah has participated in a
variety of Kindergarten to grade 4 placements while completing a B Ed
degree at the University of Windsor. She has completed a number of
professional development courses and programs, including TRIBES
[teaching strategies for co operative learning], Building Futures and
Social Justice in Education. Sarah has also had experience as a camp
facilitator with the YMCA in Hamilton and the Boys and Girls Club of
Niagara Falls.
Lisa Fleming – Hons. BBA; B. Ed
Lisa has had extensive practice teaching experience in various schools –
JK to grade 6. She has also taught ballet, tap and jazz. Lisa has also
spent time in day cares and volunteered with Special Olympics of
Ontario, Vaughan.
Mitch Conrad – currently
completing a degree in Radio and Television
Mitch is also one of Mr.
Strange’s former students. He will assume a leadership role again this
summer at our John Wanless site.
Alison Batic – currently
attending York University
Alison will return for her 5th summer with S.M.A.R.T. Camp. She is currently considering applying to a
Faculty of Education in Ontario.
Sarah Poirier – Hons. BPE; B. Ed
Sarah has had experience working
with children through Parks & Rec hockey and as a volunteer in Toronto
schools. She is also a member of the UoT Varsity Women’s Hockey Team.
Sarah is looking forward to joining our SMART team his summer.
Gerardo Pachas – currently
attending Arts Fundamentals Seneca@York
Gerardo has worked with children
at Three Valleys Children Centre and has assisted in skating programs.
Gerardo will begin his first year with SMART this summer.
Jason Tan de Bibiana – currently
completing a degree at McGill University in Montreal.
Jason will return for his 6th
year at SMART Camp. Jason is one of Mr. Strange’s former students as
well. He will continue to assume a senior leadership role at our Leaside
camp.
Jenny Kassen – currently
completing a degree at the Ontario College of Art and Design
Jenny will join SMART Camp for
her first year as an Arts and Crafts consultant. Jenny has previously
completed a Fine Arts Diploma at Langara College in British Columbia.
She has volunteered in Toronto
schools and worked in a variety of camps and schools in Canada and
Israel.
Jia Jia Lin – currently
completing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Ryerson U.
Jia Jia is interested in
entering an Ontario Faculty of Education. She has extensive experience
in Toronto schools, Child Care Centres and at Bloorview Kids Rehab.
Lisa Zhou – currently completing
a degree in Early Childhood Education at George Brown College.
Lisa has completed two ECE
placements with Toronto schools. She has volunteered, leading Arts and
Crafts, with a variety of age groups at Woodgreen Recreation Centre and
has tutored English and Math.
Jon Reid – recently
accepted at Carleton University for September, 2009.
Jon will return for his 4th
summer as a SMART Camp instructor. He will continue to mentor our CIT and
LIT participants. Jon will shadow our Co ordinators during his growth as
a future leader with SMART.
Sara Byers – Sara will enter her
senior year of high school in September, 2009.
Sara will participate in her
3rd year as a SMART Camp instructor. She will shadow our Co
ordinators as a future leader with SMART.
Ling Jiang – currently attending
the ECE program at Ryerson University
Ling has worked with children in
day care and church settings. Liang has also worked with school aged
children, students with special needs and seniors.
